Natural gas: a major contribution
to addressing global energy challenges
In the short term
Switching from coal to natural gas can reduce emissions, both greenhouse gas emissions and air pollutants. At the same time, new gas technologies can allow even the poorest populations to access a cleaner, more modern energy.
Mid-term
Gas technologies can promote structural transitions in the way energy is delivered and used, leading to increasingly efficient energy systems. Natural gas can thus facilitate the integration of renewable power, with benefits in terms of reduced emissions and costs.
In the long term
Low-carbon and zero-carbon gas technologies will provide an efficient and economically sustainable pathway to reduce GHG emissions. These technologies will be particularly relevant for sectors where it is difficult or very expensive to abate emissions by other means. They can also leverage the use of existing infrastructure to limit the need for significant further investments.

The Cavagna Group’s approach to the energy transition
The Cavagna Group ’s multifaceted commitment to the mitigation of climate change effects, concerns: industrial process management systems, distribution networks, metering systems and renewable gas integration solutions.
It is therefore clear that natural gas and renewable gases are leading the Group towards a innovative business approach, increasingly focused on greener energy sources such as hydrogen, biomethane, and biogas.
Mesura in the Natural Gas
supply chain
From high-pressure to low-pressure gas distribution network and renewable energy production plants, Cavagna Group covers it all. Under the Mesura brand, we produce technologically advanced solutions employed across the entire supply chain of multi-gas systems. Mesura’s extensive product range includes regulators, safety devices, gas meters, volume correctors, reduction and metering units tailored for industrial, commercial and residential use.
The Group’s objective is to ensure the safe delivery of gas at every stage, from processing and treatment to pressure regulation. That’s why Mesura’s products are specialised devices, designed to ensure a safe flow of fuel, be it natural gas, blends of natural gas and hydrogen or renewable gases.
Mesura for the energy transition
Many products, one mission; to strengthen its presence in the decarbonisation processes. An active support to the energy transition journey, providing sustainable solutions to customers through innovation and digitalisation.
What do we consider necessary to build a circular system that emphasizes energy efficiency?
1. The minimisation of the environmental impact of energy processes;
2. The maximisation of resource utilisation.
This approach leads to focusing R&D investments on upgrading and improving the efficiency of gas networks, in particular through:
– the integration of different energy sources;
– the compatibility of renewables into the grid.
As a Group, we specialise in equipment and systems for gases other than methane, such as hydrogen.
Our philosophy is to support and assist, if necessary, on what already exists.
Therefore, our R&D works on aligning products to new energy mixes (e.g. hydrogen plus natural gas blend).
Mesura’s engineers also work on grid readiness by analysing the compatibility for hydrogen injection into networks. This means that we are there to check whether the existing infrastructure already in place is compatible with the new mixtures.
In addition, we propose solutions to enhance the efficiency of the gas distribution network, optimising the use of resources and reducing energy-related environmental impacts.
reliability, and performance in every product we manufacture.
